About this place
The Tadon Special Bowl brings together kalbi, pork loin and outside skirt, making it a handy choice if you cannot settle on just one. One diner reported receiving three pieces of each meat; the browned edges and sweet-and-savoury sauce made the rice especially moreish. Their bowl also came with salad and soup.
For a single meat, options include kalbi, outside skirt and pork loin bowls. One diner said the sweet sauce clung well to the meat in the kalbi bowl and made it easy to keep eating rice. Another ordered the outside skirt bowl and shared their impressions of its flavour. Those keen on a more generous serving of pork loin may find one diner's experience with the large W Pork Loin Bowl useful: they enjoyed the seasoned meat, added kimchi from the table for contrast and noted that soup was included.
Some diners have described the table kimchi as all-you-can-eat. One person who added a soft-boiled egg to a kalbi bowl also singled out the kimchi's crisp texture. Enjoying the meat on its own, then adding kimchi to a later bite, is one way to vary the bowl as you go.
Stone-cooked bibimbap is another option. Listed in medium and large sizes, it combines carrot, spinach, bean sprouts and bracken fern with shredded omelette and beef kalbi simmered in a sweet soy-based sauce. It offers a change from a grilled-meat rice bowl. The Ikebukuro branch serves diners in the restaurant and also offers takeaway; payment is by cash only.
